Come experience science in action as Science World brings their weird, wacky, and jaw-dropping brand of science to the Community Science Celebration on Saturday April 4, 2009. This show presents a live, interactive demonstration that combines education, theatre and fun. Science World has a playful approach to learning science and technology where kids can see the concepts in their textbooks come alive with colour, humour and flair.

The Kootenay Association for Science & Technology (KAST), in partnership with Selkirk College and Vancouver’s Science World is proud to bring back the Community Science Celebration to Castlegar for the third year.

Have you ever wondered about acupuncture and how it works? Now you can have all your questions answered by attending the Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences Open House on Saturday, April 4th.

The Academy of Classical Oriental Sciences will host an open house allowing you to come take a tour of the school, sample some different teas, treat yourself to a massage, enter a draw for cool door prizes or try your hand at our ‘Name the Bronze Man’ contest.

At 4:00 pm there will be a slide show by ACOS alumni Dr. David Knox, Dr. TCM and Lorie Knox, R.Ac. as they present ‘Paddling the Inside Passage’. Sit back, relax and enjoy the journey as two practitioners and a dog paddle the Pacific spreading word of Chinese Medicine.
