The Friends of the Nelson Municipal Library Annual Used Book Sale will occur Friday, Sept. 17th from 5pm. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Sept.18th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Library basement . There will be a wide selection at this year’s book sale.

We will have the bargain hunter’s dream; “A Bag of Books for $3.00”.
At 2:50 p.m. the room is emptied of buyers and the doors are closed for ten minutes. The doors are reopened at 3:00 p.m. Re entering buyers are asked to have their own bag to stuff with books for just $3.00.

The 16th annual AIDS Walk for Life will be held on Saturday, September 18th, 2010. Registration will be from 11 -11:45 am, and the Walk will begin at exactly 12 pm. We need walkers and volunteers for the event! Sign up as a team or individual walker by contacting Casey or Brahm at 250-505-5506 or aids-walk@ankors.bc.ca.

This five piece band will delight you with their vocals and blend of voices in tight harmonies of standard blues and jazz. The melodies and harmonies will delight you with Mara Sand on rhythm guitar and vocals, Kevin McKenzie on the harmonica and Frank Brooke on vocals and on lead guitar. The bass spot is held down by the amazing melodic rhythms of Dave Planedin on his five string electric bass. Drummer Bonnie Johnson will kick out the dancing beats.
