The following is an overview offered to highlight some of the themes I will
address in this presentation. The 2012 date is gaining more and more
attention. I will highlight some of the most basic facts about this event in
the actual phenomenal perspective. What this event indirectly represents is
the reality and importance of cycles in our life.  There are many kinds of
cycles and each has its own duration and importance. The Great Alignment is
based on a 26,000 year cycle called the “Precession of the Equinoxes” and
otherwise called the Great Year. I will illustrate how and why the
precessional cycle works and what it generally means and what it
specifically implies to Mayan cosmology.

There are many interpretations about this focus on 2012 now. These range
from the cataclysmic and horrific to the transformational and enlightened.
The alignment of the Sun with the Galactic Center is my main focus. Woven
into this understanding is also how and why Astrology works. What the
alignment implies and how we can be aware of and attuned to this event is
also important. Our conscious awareness is a key factor in our co-creative
participation. This brings emphasis to the New Paradigm that we are now
experiencing. This great shift of collective perception supports the
understanding that we are not merely passive observers or victims of
circumstance, but as spiritual beings we are co-creators. In addition to
emphasizing this point, I will also bring attention to the natural evidence
which lends to prove that we are co-creators, and life is a grand expression
of spiritual intent and that we are one with it.

What is unique about my presentation is that I am a professional Astrologer
and I work with cycles everyday; the cycles that our lives are subject to
whether we know it or believe it or not. So, in addition to an overview of
the various perspectives on the 2012 alignment, I will both bring closer
attention to cycles in general and more specifically, to the many powerful
cycles and aspects current now leading up to the 12/21/2012 and beyond with
emphasis on the 3 years prior and following the event. Understanding these
aspects weaves the western Astrological perspective in to this entire event
and will assist people to get mentally and emotionally prepared to
experience the alignment consciously. I will also take a much broader view
through to the 2020’s and an even much wider view looking to the entire 21st
century and even beyond that to the next 500 years. The emphasis of this
wider angle will be based upon what I call the ‘anatomy of a cycle’ and this
refers to any cycle of any length and to the principle of the ages like that
of Aquarius, for example. An age can otherwise be understood as a Great
Month. A great month is simply 1/12th of a great year and is about 2,150
years long. This can further be broken down into weeks, days, minutes and
seconds and in doing so we gain a clear example of the fractals of time that
Astrologers work with everyday.

We are already well into what noted author and Mayan Cosmology expert, John
Major Jenkins refers to as the “2012 era”. I hope you will choose to attend

powerful and exciting cycles that are, and will be affecting you and us all.
