ANKORS and the Nelson United Church host World AIDS Day, December 1st, 7pm at the Nelson United Church at the corner of Josephine and Silica Streets. World AIDS Day is held every Decmeber 1st. On this day, communities around the world honour and commemorate those lost to AIDS and those who continue to live with the effects of HIV/AIDS. Around 40 million people are living with HIV throughout the world and that number increases every day. Ignorance, poverty and stigma are fuelling the spread of this preventable disease. The theme of this year’s World AIDS Day is human rights. Plese join us on December 1st at the Nelson United Church for a service conducted by Rev David Boyd, with musical guests, Aspen Switzer and the One World Choir.
